1. Removed the string trimmer head
2. Removed the engine and throttle assemblies
3. Removed the defective liner and flexible cable from the shaft
4. Cut the old liner from the flexible cable
5. Inspected the old flexible cable and verified that it was still okay
6. Replaced the liner in the string trimmer shaft
7. Replaced the flexible cable, adding grease during reassembly
8. Replaced the string head and engine/throttle assemblies
