2. The switch was already falling apart so the wire came out easily.
(You should shut off the breaker powering the range hood first to avoid electric shock)
3. Insert the wire to the new switch according to the diagram came with the switch.
4. Install the new switch back to the range hood with the nut came with the new switch.
The knob on the range hood broke and I couldn't find one anywhere. I ordered the switch from you because the picture appeared to have a knob but it arrived with no knob. We had to buy and replace t

Striped ends of both wires and inserted ends of both wires into respective quick connect terminals.
Placed switch back in place and nut using needle nose pliers.
Placed knob back on switch stem.
Tested switch and it worked like a charm.
Note: Before I placed the wires into the switch, I determined the "off" position as I was working with hot wires. Be careful not to let the wires touch or grab both ends at the same time so as not to get shocked.
