Customer Repair Instructions ?
All our customer repair instructions are solicited directly from other customers just like you who have purchased and replaced this exact part.
Cut a tree too fast, it snapped and sling me backwards when the tree hit my chainsaw hand brake. So I needed to repair that and then I said let’s go all out and get a new air filter.
Tool Type
Chain Saw
Difficulty
Easy
Time
30-60 minutes
Tools Used
Screwdriver, Allen wrench
Parts Used
Air Filter
1. Remove air filter cover
2. Remove air filter fastener, remove old air filter, install new filter, put the remaining stuff you took off, back on exactly like the manufacture assembled it.
Chain brake:
1. Loosen chain guard cover, now loosen chain
2. Remove chainsaw cover, then remove chain and then the bar
3. Remove brake handle screw that was blocked by the chain guard/clutch cover
4. Now remove the screw on the opposite side of the hand brake (your not hallucinating, they are different sizes, don’t mix them up)
5. Remove chain brake handle. Don’t throw it away just yet, you are gonna need the metal sleeve as the new one doesn’t come with that or your handle is gonna get all wabbly on you and irritate the fire out of you.
6. Now put the bushing in the new handle. Lay all that stuff aside on the table
7. Get out the air compressor and air chuck and wear your safety glasses and blow all of that build up of saw dust out of the clutch area, out of the bar in the chain guides and the roller area. If your really feeling up to it, take the air filter cover off, and the starter cover off (you’ll have to remove the metal handle for that) and clean the entire saw freeing it of that pesky build up of oil and saw dust.
8. Now put all of that stuff you took off without losing the screws and forgetting the location they go in and install the starter, air filter cover, metal handle and the hand brake.
9. Bows a good time to make sure your Oiler is working properly. Crank that bad girl up with the chain, bar, and clutch cover off and make sure oil is coming out of the Oiler. If not check your oil level if that’s not the problem adjust your Oiler by the screw on the bottom, if that doesn’t work, call these guys up and purchase a new oil.
10. Everything good to go now? Sweeet! Put her back together.
11. We’re not done yet! Stop rushing me!!! Did you remember to sharpen the chain? I think now would be a good time don’t you?
12. Stop arguing with me and sharpen the chain, you’ll embarrass yourself when your Neigbor watches you cut a 4” pine beach for five minutes, don’t believe me try it, been there done that!
13. Now go have an ice cold beer, appreciate a job well done and cut those trees and limbs tomorrow when the wife’s home, then you won’t have to help her clean house ;D
