It is an authentic item that is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Ariens snowblowers. The purpose of this lever is to provide a user with a comfortable grip to engage and disengage the augers. It is an identical replacement for a damaged or a missing part that was installed on a new unit. To ensure the exact location and the correct installation refer to the appropriate diagrams and the owners manual of your model. This high-quality left-hand traction lever is made of durable materials and is sold individually. Note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately. You will need a wrench set and pliers to remove the hardware and secure the new component.

1. Tip machine up onto blower opening.
2. Loosen left handle bar
3. Mark cam (detent) on shaft
4. Remove spring clip from cam
5. Slide shaft from panel
6. Install new lever assembly.
7. Assemble in reverse order
8. Check traction cable adjustment

The left hand traction lever broke broke at the weld

Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, Needle nose pliers for removing and replacing pins

1- completely unfasten left handle bar from control panel 2- unhook upper section of handle bar from lower section to allow enough room to remove old traction lever and replace new one 3- make a note of where the cam goes on traction bar 4 - reassemble in reverse order

Broken left hand drive lever.

1. Disconnected all control cables, rods, springs etc. that are attached to the control panel.
2. Removed control panel from the snowblower.
3. Removed remains of broken drive lever and replaced it with the new one.
4. Reattached control panel to the snowblower.
5. Reattached all control cables, rods, springs etc.
6. Started snowblower to check function of all systems.
The new part was an exact fit replacement part of the broken drive control lever. However, it does not have the rubber grip material on the handle of the original piece had.
