  • Had to modify the part
    The part look up was not correct for my Dewalt saw. The exploded view diagram showed the proper lead but the part was not correct. I was able to attach the new wire to my existing part (sans the burnt end) and got the saw running again. The part did ship promptly and the billing was correct.

    1. Removed the battery.
    2. Took the reciprocating saw handle apart.
    3. Replaced the lead wires.
    4. Replaced both brushes by holding the spring tensioner back, inserting the brush, then connecting the brush to the terminal.
    5. Reassemble and test.
