The most common reason for replacing the timer knob is if it warns, causing you to have trouble engaging the timer. This part is sold individually. Remove the knob by pulling it straight off its post.

Essential, so have to buy!!
Control knobs are an essential part in making a washer-drier unit operate, so when one fails, you're kind of stuck without it! Replace the knob or buy a new unit!! eReplacement Part are (from my research) the most competitive on price and shipping charges available in the market place. And the part was what was needed to return the unit into full operation.

The old knob was already removed (pulled straight off) and the new one was placed on the metal shaft of the controller (the flat on the inside of the new control knob's shaft matching the flat face on one side of the controller's metal shaft) - and the job was done!
