Remove wheel, remove everything from the axle on the outside of the mower deck. Remove broken arm-spring from the part holding it (one bolt) Install new arm-spring, reinstall everything on the axle in the order it came off. Reinstall wheel. Started mower, it works great! Installed new air filter, new spark plug, new mower blade. Changed oil and ran mower out of gas, put away until Spring.

One the bolts were removed and the rust removed, the repair was quite straight forward.

    1. Went to your site to look at which parts had been there before they broke off and fell somewhere in the yard.
    2. Ordered the parts and waited them to arrive.
    3. Unscrewed the bolt-shoulder from the cutting height mechanism (a.k.a. arm pivot), allowing me to remove the wheel.
    4. Slipped the new bolt that had been cracked (screw-shoulder) into the arm pivot.
    5. Re-attached the wheel.
    6. Slip the spacer-wheel over the screw-shoulder.
    7. Slip the screw-shoulder through the hole in the chassis.
    8. Place the washer-flat on the screw-shoulder
    9. Screw on the nut to the screw-shoulder.

    3. Removed plastic shroud covering the belt/pulley system and removed the rear plastic shroud.
    4. Marked the location where the old cable was clamped to the underside of the deck with a Sharpie so that I would know where to clamp the new cable.
    5. Removed the cap nut holding the cable loop to the handle.
    6. Pried out the plastic pivot button out of the plastic socket, located just under where the handle end of the cable attaches.
    7. Reversed the process to install the new cable.
