    The bearing on front left wheel wore out. The wheel adjustment of both wheel on front were not holding a position. Replaced both wheel adjuster assemblies which solved both problems.

    Remove plastic wheel covers.
    Remove both wheels using socket or open end wrench.
    Remove keeper clip to remove drive gear from drive shaft on each side.
    Remove wheel adjusters and replace with new ones.
    Replace in reverse order.

    Wheel adjuster was broken

    Remove the old one and put on the new.
    Beware! Usually you order a Left handed part and it is left handed as you use the lawnmower. They have it backwards, the Left handed part goes on the Right side as you use the machine.

    Self propelled wheel bearing needed to be replaced

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set

    Remove old wheel with socket wrench.
    Remove retaining clip with screw driver and pliers.
    Remove old drive gear with 3 pronged gear puller and wrench.
    Remove drive pawl with center punch and hammer..
    Remove bolts from Rh Adjuster.
    Grind off outer bearing housing as bearing had already fell out.
    Grind off inner bearing race and remove.
    Pull off old Rh Adjuster.
    clean up axle with fine grit sand paper
    Install new rh adjuster and bearing. using rubber mallet to tap on.
    tighten rh adjuster bolts.
    install new dust cover.
    put in new drive pawl in axle.
    put on new gear using rubber mallet to tap on.
    put on retaining clip with pliers.
    install new drive wheel.
    tighten drive well nut.

    Transmission and power wheel bearings failed

    Pliers, Socket set, Wrench Set, Nutdriver

    1. Removed the drive belt cover with a 5/16" nut driver
    2. Removed the drive belt retainer nut and two piece pulley using a 9/16" socket.
    3. Removed both front drive wheels (9/16" socket) (self propelled mower)
    4. Removed the front hub assemblies by unbolting two 10mm nuts from deck.
    5. Remove left and right front hub assemblies by sliding off the drive shaft.
    6. Removed the drive gears and drive pins.Hammer and screwdriver.
    7. Removed the dust covers
    8. Removed the transmission engagement cable from the lever by positioning it to allow the Z cable end to unhook .
    9. Strategically removed the transmission and drive shaft from the deck. Has to be maneuvered to allow it to slide out of deck holes.
    10. Replace parts and re-assemble in reverse order.
    11. Start mower and verify front wheels are now engaging when activated.

    Self propelled lawnmower worn out bearing at outer drive shaf, could not move machine due to binding of shaft.

    Socket set, Wrench Set, Scribe to remove E clip from drive gear.

    1. Removed both drive wheels.
    2. Removed e clips holding drive gears in place.
    3. Removed adjuster assemblies by removing attaching hardware.
    4. Reversed order to install new parts.
    5. Replaced both assemblies even though only the left one showed significant wear. Fro the cost of the assemblies, its worth the preventative maintenance.
