It has ceramic honeycomb tiles with tiny openings that produce flames to heat ceramic to a glowing red. Emitting direct energy in the infrared spectrum. This burner assembly is made out of stainless steel with ceramic honeycomb burner tiles.
This repair does not require any tools.
• Disconnect gas tank
• Remove old burner and secure new one
• Re-connect gas and test the burner

2. Removed the IR burner retaining screw and removed the faulty burner
3. Placed new IR burner and secured with retaining screw
4. Replaced stainless steel grill grates and fired up the new burner

Issues; phillips head screws are possibly stainless steel and the interface of the screwdriver with screw head can be galled/ damaged.
Solution; get the screws off with vice grips. There are like screws (grade 8) on the old manifold. These screws will match threads.
Issue; new manifold was slightly bent, this was discovered during installation. The box was damaged, so it can be surmised that it was bent in shipping
Solution; gently, but forcefully apply screws attaching manifold to the back of the control panel starting at one end working across minimizing stress to the manifold tube.
