I had to replace the initiation, c.saw was not firing. While I was replacing the ignition, I replaced the pull rope, air filter and spark plug.
Tool Type
Chain Saw
Difficulty
Easy
Time
15-30 minutes
Tools Used
Screwdriver, Socket set, Allen Wrench Set, C-Type Vice Grips
I simply removed cover that holds the pull rope and gained access to the ignition area. Tightening down the new ignition while maintaining a gap between the ignition and the "flywheel", using a business card.
I used the vice grips to hold the tightened spring in place while replacing the pull rope, I find it makes it easier to replace the rope, you just have to be careful not to put too much pressure on the vice grips because the reel that holds the rope is plastic, although a very tough plastic, it's still plastic. Put it all back together.
Pulled the rope and was ready to start cutting. Runs like a new saw!
I have had this saw for at least 10 years, it was purchased with a group of saws at a pawn shop. I think I got at least 10 different saws for under $1,000,00. There were two of these saws in the "package". This one saw has been worth the amount paid for all, it is used quite a lot and with the PROPER repair parts will be used a lot more.
Thanks, I'll be back
