This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with MTD and Troy-Bilt lawn and garden equipment. The ignition module also known as armature-magneto provides current for the ignition system by producing pulses of high voltage for the spark plugs. It provides an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty component that was installed on a new unit. Please make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct application of this assembly. Note, the spark plug boot and two bolts are included.

Poor fit, would not work as delivered.
The part arrived in good condition and looked identical the may failed ignition module. However, the mounting slots were not aligned properly and it was impossible to get the proper gap between the module's armature and the flywheel magnets without filing the both slots until both ends of the armature could be set at the required 0.014" gap. This was not a direct replacement part., but it did work after some modifications.
