This part is an OEM from Murray for use with Lawn Tractors. The mandrel housing houses the shaft that spins the blade. The bearings in the mandrel assembly wear down through normal use. An unbalanced blade speeds the wear on the bearings, as does hitting rocks while mowing. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the mandrel housing is a 7/8 inch socket on an impact driver, 5/8 inch socket and a ½ inch socket.

Removed mower blade retainer nut , washers and blade found had a broken blade adapter.
then found mandrel was bad.
Removed mandrel Bolts which one of them snapped off.
Removed mower deck pin so front of deck swung down
Removed Mandrel with pulley etc.
Removed pulley and put on New mandrel.
Put mandrel and pulley back into position raising the mower deck and putting pin back in place; had to fight with the belt a little bit. Put bolts in place, tightened them up for mandrel, put blade adapter on then Blade washer and nut and tightened that down and lowered front of lawn mower.
