Replacement Substitute Part
Pros:
1) appears heavy duty, thicker than the old ones
2) holes line up
3) substitute part for a discontinued part that cant be found
(K-Mart 5 HP Quantum PowerPro - 1996)
Cons:
1) looks nothing like the part being replaced, MUCH larger
2) wasnt tapped , no threads for existing screws
3) you will need to buy nuts, bolts, washers or tap it
4) handle will need to be modified (cut)
5) expensive
6) pain in the to install, two person job. I am sure there was a better way to put them on.
I attached the brackets to the handle and used the garage door to prop it up. Not sure how bendable the handle was so I didn't attach the brackets and then force the handle onto the studs. One side of the handle was already bent, I think it happened right after the bracket broke.
The handle is a little higher now, different angle, not sure if that will be a hinderance or not. Haven't used it yet. Tight fit, no play at all in the handle. I am just happy that it is useable again. One pull and it fired right up. Hopefully I will get a few more years out of it.

It appears you are showing (2) parts in your picture for item 28 and for showing same as 28 fir item 30 Left side and right side. Is this correct? You are providing left and right under the same part number. Part number in my manual is 151665x479? For right side handle assembly and 151667x479 for left side.
