Split drill case in half by removing the screws, then remove the gear and bearing shaft and keyless chuck. Place shaft in a vice add heat to the bad gear attach a gear puller and remove the gear and first bearing. I add some lube to the shaft and placed the new gear on the shaft and used a deep well socket and tapped the new in place then added the bearing and used a deep well socket then tapped it in place. Reinstalled the shaft back into the drill and then put the drill back together. PS do not forget to add more grease on the gears.
