Hello Michael, Thank you for writing. The following is from the manufacturer. Gear cases are filled to the correct level at the factory. Unless there is evidence of leakage, no additional lubricant should be required. Check the oil level each season or every 25 hours of operation. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair.

Removed auger impeller unit and replaced with fully assembled new gear case, very easy and ready for install. painting the snowblower before install so unsure of fitment but it looks the same. Glad it was this easy, saved me $200 bucks
