It is an authentic OEM supplied exhaust gasket that is designed to provide and air tight seal between the muffler and the exhaust guide. This part is specially produced for use with Echo handheld lawn and garden equipment. Over time gaskets tend to shrink, become brittle and crack eventually requiring replacement. It is made from durable composite material and it is sold individually.

    Screen on 20 yr old hedge trimmer never cleaned

    Directions on echo Hc 1500 type 2E totally a bust. Echo owners manual said removed 2 screws to replace spark arrestor. Not so for mine. Had to remove entire cover over unit to remove muffler. Took some time but mission accomplished. Difficult to get cover to fit perfectly over. Take pictures as you go so to remember what screw goes where. Otherwise not difficult just time consuming.

    Remove the old muffler and replaced it with a new one. Also replace the the exhaust gasket and the spark arrester.

    Remove the spark plug, then the engine housing. The spark arrestor screen and gasket are located under the muffler and accessible by removing three screws. Very easy to replace.
