My mechanic told me it wasn't worth working on, I decided to repair it myself. I tore it apart, saw the damage, went online and ordered the parts and gaskets and a new spark plug. Believe it or not all my parts arrived very quickly, and everyone was the correct one. This tiller has worked hard every year since we bought it new in 1984, it has always started on either the first or 2nd pull. The only money that has been spent on it up till now was regular maintenance. It was simple to put back together, the piston and rings came with easy to understand instructions. It ought to be good for another 33 years now.
