Well the new gaskets diameter is smaller than its perimeter hold inside the fuel cap so it needs to be forced in at two places at once. I just used 2 flat head screwdrivers to force it into its perimeter hold at the opposite sides at the same time. Just kept doing that method in a clockwise or counter until it seats in the perimeter hold.

Purge bulb was cracked and leaking gas. Replace fill cap gasket

    Screwdriver, Jeweler\\\'s screwdriver

Take air filter cover off. Remove filter. Using small Phillips head remove two long machine screws on either side of intake opening. OBSERVE THE GASKET PLACEMENT FOR REINSTALL. Place screws and gasket in holding container. You don't have to unhook fuel lines on carburetor. Just carefully rotate till purge bulb screws are accessible. Using a jeweler's screwdriver remove the four screws that hold bulb in place. Gently lift bracket and bulb from carburetor. If you use a screwdriver to pry it off be very GENTLE. Carburetor is aluminum and easily scored, causing possible leaks. Remove old purge bulb from bracket and discard. Clean all surfaces using a soft cloth and carburetor cleaner. Spray cleaner onto cloth instead of the parts. Wipe thoroughly clean. Reassemble in reverse order. Firmly tighten all screws without stripping or breaking. When reinstalling carburetor ensure that that throttle cable is still in the butterfly leaver. It just slides and locks in place. In well ventilated space or outdoors refill gas tank, purge the fuel system using purge bulb and start. Check to make sure throttle works. If not, turn off and take the two machine bolts loose from carburetor to gain access to throttle butterfly and reinstall throttle cable as directed above.
