This white shelf trim in your refrigerator is a barrier to prevent containers from sliding off the shelf. It is also commonly known as a shelf guard or shelf retainer. It needs to be replaced if it is broken or damaged, and feels loose or wobbly. No tools are required to remove an existing shelf trim. Open the refrigerator door fully and remove any items from the shelf. Take out the entire shelf from the refrigerator. Gently rotate the trim forward, lifting one end and moving it away from the glass. When installing the new trim, make sure the short edge faces downward, away from the glass, while the long edge faces toward the glass. Roll the trim underneath the metal frame, attaching it along the entire length. Snap it firmly into the channels, creating a space for the glass to fit. Once securely attached, pivot the glass into position, center it, and rotate the trim so that the long edge slides over the glass and locks in place. It is important to note that this genuine OEM part is sold separately from the shelf glass, the metal frame, and the rear shelf trim.
