This genuine OEM fresh food door gasket creates an airtight seal between your fridge door and its main body. It prevents warm air from entering the cabinet, ensuring the desired temperature is maintained inside. It is a white-colored rubber seal that has magnets, and it is positioned along the edges of the door. If you observe condensation or frost buildup on the inside of the refrigerator or feel cold air escaping when the door is closed, the gasket likely needs replacement. To remove the gasket, open the door and start by gripping one of its corners, pulling it away from its tracks to unseat the barbed ridge. Continue to work your way around the door until it is completely free. To smooth out any folds and creases in the replacement gasket, you can soak it in warm water. Before installing it, make sure to clean the sealing surface by wiping it with a moistened paper towel. Align it with the door and make sure to properly seat all the corners before working your way around the door, ensuring that the gasket is fully pressed in. Please keep in mind that this replacement part is sold separately from the freezer door gasket.
