This fan is an OEM direct from Craftsman for air compressors. This part cools the air compressor and connects to end of the motor shaft to prevent the air compressor from overheating. You will need a screwdriver, a socket set and a power drill to replace this part. This fan is made of plastic and is sold individually.

    Remove and replace cooling fan

    Screwdriver, Socket set, power drill is for screw removal and re-assmbly

    Remove shroud, remove any part of old fan, (one screw holds it on), line up with keyed slots on new part, secure with screw and spin to test for center spin as it is an eccentric center, keyed slots are different sizes to assist in dummy proofing, re-attach shroud and you're done

    Removed the fan bolt and what was left of the old fan. Installed the new fan and replaced the bolt. I thought I was out of luck with the compressor, but you had my part at a great price. Thanks, Mark L. NC

    Cooling Fan Blade Broke

    First. The fan broke because I did not unwrap the air hose around the space between the tank and compressor motor. When I started it up the fan hit the hose. Second. I was delighted to find I could get a replacement fan as getting parts for older models can be difficult. I bought this Sears unit in 1996. The repair was easy, a bolt and a couple of panel screws.

    Remove back plastic housing
    Remove broken fan pieces
    Remove nut on piston rod
    Clean around piston from dust and dirt
    Install new fan and secure with nut and washer
    Reinstall back plastic guard
    Check for operation and cooling

    Simply removed the plastic compressor/motor cover and the bolt in the end of the shaft, reversed the process and done
