Does this fit my product?Questions & Answers for Muffler
First six numbers are model number the second set of numbers are the type. My question is I need a new muffler. This is an old lawn mower, none of my numbers match up to yours. Mower is made by MTD a yard man push. It has a Briggs and Stratton 550 series, 158cc. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hello Jack, thank you for your inquiry. The model is good if you take out the hyphen between the T and 8. Briggs and Stratton 10T802-0778-B1 Engine. There are two listings for mufflers. One is Muffler (Super Lo Tone) part 692307 and Exhaust Muffler S/?A 39 part 394569S. There are photos of each on our site for you to see. Unscrew the old part with channel locks and simply screwed the new muffler in by hand and tighten with channel locks. The time it took was less than a minute.

Add WD40 to all screws to be removed. Unscrew old muffler, clean area and screw the new muffler in. Clean filter case, add new filter. Remove old primer bulb, clean area with rag and WD40 and you will be able too see the old retainer. Remove old retainer by using a flat head screw driver in the outside holes. Insert towards the back of the hole and pry old retainer out. Insert new bulb and new retainer.
