Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement exhaust gasket. It is specially made for use with Briggs and Stratton engines commonly used on Toro lawn and garden equipment. Its purpose is to provide an air-tight seal between the carburetor and the exhaust tube. Over time this gasket will deteriorate requiring replacement. Please note, this composite gasket is sold individually.

To replace this part you will need a wrench.

    1. Removed the head.
    2. Checked for damage, found a sticky valve and a bent push-rod.
    3. Replaced the valve parts and the push-rod. Runs fine now.

    Leaking oil from crankcase

    Removed engine from mower.
    Flipped engine over.
    Separated 2 halves of the crankcase.
    Removed old gasket cleaned mating surface.
    Installed new gasket, reinstalled lower portion of crankcase.
    Torqued crankcase bolts
    Reinstalled engine

    removed cylinder head, pressed valve guide back in place, peened valve guide, lapped valves, reassembled head , reassembled engine.

    Misfiring on one cylinder

    Socket set, Wrench Set, Nutdriver, Allen wrench, inch LB torque wrench , torque specs l

    Ran compression test and found one cylinder has no compression
    Removed the head and found the exhaust valve stuck open removed the valve cleaned it put it back in the head
    Cleaned all the gasket surfaces
    Reinstalled head
    Looked up torque specs online
    Torqued to specs
    Put everything else together and mowed the lawn!
