This authentic replacement part is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Murray walk-behind lawn mowers. The cable stops the blade when the control handle is released, unfortunately, if the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. Keep in mind this high-quality rubber insulated cable is sold individually.     Wrong part .
    They sent wrong part to short for my murray 20" walk behind lawnmower then i spoke to customer service & they wouldnt ship the new right part until i returned the other one how could i return without return label . still waiting for return label so i could get my refund so i could purchase new part . sincerly unsatisfied.

    Lawn Mower had been setting in the weather for about 7 years not running. Broken starter rope, broken kill cable, frozen engine.

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Power Drill, Socket set, Nutdriver, Adjustable Wrench

    1. Ants had built a nest in the air intake all the way into the engine.
    2.Removed cover housing, air filter,carburetor, spark plug, hoses, broken kill cable, etc.
    3. Cleaned up the ant nest.
    4. Sprayed Blaster (a lot of it) into the cylinder over night and exercised the piston via the flywheel till piston moved freely.
    5. Disassembled carburetor, rodded all ports with a small wire and cleaned off as much aluminum oxide as possible (couldn't get it all).
    6. Installed carb repair kit from ereplacement and reinstalled carb and filter with new gaskets.
    7. Replaced all hoses. Replaced spark plug with new one.
    8. Installed engine kill cable from ereplacement and adjusted.
    9. Replaced oil.
    10. Disassembled pull start cord spool, cleaned, lubed, replaced cord, reassembled.
    11. Reassembled mower. Filled with gas.
    12.Primed engine. gave it a shot of starter fluid, pull the cord and, my goodness, it started and ran first time!

    Removed old and engine stop cable.
    Lowered stop handle on your release T cable end from handle.
    Use flat screw driver to pop cable clip from handle.
    Use plyers to remove cable end from engine.
    Inset cable T into handle.
    Insert cable into the engine.
    Insert cable clip into existing hole in handle.
    Your done!
