This replacement part is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for use with walk behind/push mowers. The drive control cable is the cable that stops the blade when the control handle is released. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. This cable assembly consists of a metal wire cable with z-type bent ends, rubberized cover/body and a plastic clip.
Replacing this cable is a simple task that may require pliers.
• First you want to see where the old cable is attached
• Just remove one cable end there and install the new one
• Now you can run the new cable up to the control handle
• Then just as the old cable, put the z-shaped end through the hole in the control handle
• Once both ends are attached, push the upper mount assembly of the old cable out of the hole in the upper handle
• Tie the cable in place just as the old one was (make sure to leave enough clearance and free play to avoid over-bending and breaking the new cable)
