This drive cable is a genuine OEM sourced part. It is specially designed for use with a variety walk-behind lawn mowers. This is the special cable that controls the drive function of the unit. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. This drive cable is made of high-quality metal with rubberized insulation and is sold as an individual item.
To complete this repair you should only need pliers.
• First you want to see where the old cable is attached to the motor assembly
• Remove the old cable end there and install the new one
• Now you can run the new cable up to the control handle
• Once both ends are attached, tie the cable in place just as the old one was
• Leave enough clearance and free play to avoid over-bending and breaking the new cable

2 Blade control mounted easily without the need of tools. I connected one end to the control handle and wrapped the cable around the handle shaft so there was no sagging and connected the other end to the throttle lever on the engine and snapped the plastic stop into place and it was done.
3.Using a nut driver I removed the drive assembly cover and used a screwdriver to pry cable bracket from the handle. Once the cover was removed the old drive cable was easy to remove and replace without the need for further tools. Once the cover was replaced and new bracket, (which comes with the cable), was pressed into place I started the mower ensuring everything worked. All told all the repairs took about 30 min total and there were no surprises making for a very easy and trouble free fix.
