This door latch and gasket is a genuine OEM replacement kit used in dishwashers. The door latch is a safety mechanism that stops the washer from operating if the door is open. When the door is shut, the latch engages with the door switch and keeps the door closed during use. The gasket is a rubber strip located around the that creates a watertight seal to prevent water and soap from leaking out of the dishwasher. Over time the gasket can wear down or tear and the latch may break or become dislodged from its position. To access the door latch you will need to remove the inner panel of the door. Remove the mounting hardware that secures the door latch and remove it from the door. Align the new latch with the mounting holes and secure it in place with the appropriate fasteners. Reattach the inner door panel. Peel the old gasket from the dishwasher frame and clean the mounting surface to ensure a good seal for the new gasket. Firmly press the new seal around the dishwasher frame and ensure it is flat against the surface.
