Lawnmower would run for a minute then shutdown, missing aircleaner cover and chute.

Stephen - September 23, 2017
I was doing a job for a customer of mine that involved cleaning out their shed, and there was this push mower in there that has seen better days. It was a Craftsman, but had a Honda motor on it. Reliability is what I saw. So getting the mower for free was the best part. Brought it back to my workshop, and started going through it. Changed the oil, spark plug, cleaned the air filter, fresh gas. It fired right up but was running terribly. My first thought was the normal ethanol problem, gummed up the plastic internals of the carburetor. From experience, it's not even worth the trouble of tearing it apart. The new replacement carburetor is $17, throwing some fresh gaskets, a new air filter, chute, and the missing air filter cover came to about $60. Runs like a top. Sharpened the blade, basically a brand new mower, for $60.
