This genuine OEM ice container, or bucket, is a storage container for ice cubes in your refrigerator. It needs to be replaced if it has significant cracks or breaks. To remove the container, start by opening the freezer door and lifting the container out. Ensure that the shut-off arm for the ice maker is in the off position. Detach the front panel, access door, shield, crusher assembly, and auger assembly from the old container and transfer them onto the new one. It is advised to avoid disassembling the crusher and auger assembly to simplify the transfer process. When aligning the control rod, pay attention to the two sets of crimps on the rod. Ensure that one set goes in front of the crusher assembly plate and the other set goes behind it. To secure the other end of the rod, make sure that the spring hooks around the tab on the bottom of the container and that the bracket tucks in behind the tab. Engage the hook of the rod by rotating it into the flapper door. Install the front panel and access door by aligning the holes in the container with those on the components and fastening them in place. Finally, snap the guard back into position by pushing it onto the side rails of the bin, ensuring that the ridged edge faces towards the front. Please note that this replacement part only includes the ice bucket, and any additional components must be purchased separately.
