It is a genuine item which is made for use with Porter Cable power tool. This part is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer. It is a special component which helps to connect two lead wires. The part is utilized to connect the on/off switch to the tool. It is a simple plastic item which is sold individually. Replacing it will only require a screwdriver, take apart the housing, remove the old part and secure the wires using the new connector.

    Screwdriver, Wire cutters and crimpers

    I removed the top half of the housing, replaced the cord and sleeve. Then removed the old pad and cleaned the surface. I put a small piece of very thin metal duct tape over the bearing hole. Then I sprayed a light coat of 3M high tack adhesive on the pad and reinstalled it....Job done!!

    1. Removed screw holding rear cover.
    2. Removed cover.
    3. Removed connector from black wire with needle nose pliers by opening crimp.
    4. Disconnected wire from switch to spade using needle nose pliers.
    5. Removed old switch.
    6. Installed new switch in reverse order using crimping tool on new connector.
    7. Plugged in to receptacle and tested switch.

    Took the handle off, picture of internal electrical wire from pc, played New pc wires next to old ones, marked length of each color of wire(plus extra for placement in handle), the stripped each wire & paired each & applied each closed end connectors with crimmper. Stripped ground wire ,applied terminal connector & crimped it.
