removed side cover and clamped other side to prevent it from falling apart.
removed connecting rod locking nut - REVERSE THREADED!
removed vertical assembly and disconnect horizontal rods.
using drift pin and vise- spread vertical assembly allowing removal of connecting rod.
replaced with new connecting rod - removed drift pin.
re-assembled scroll saw in reverse order.
Again - the nut holding the connecting rod to the motor is REVERSE THREADED. Beware.
