This is a manufacturer authorized replacement part used on Abu Garcia reels. Retaining/Lock Rings are designed such that their contact diameter has some interference fit with the groove in which they fit. This creates a “snug” fit between the ring and groove. This part is made out of metal and is sold individually.
To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver and pliers.

START WITH A SCHEMATIC! Take the reel apart. Clean each part. Inspect for wear and damages. Photograph the sequence of removal. Replace the used, damaged, worn parts.

C Clip was missing from cross wind on garcia 170 spincast reel.

The clip is very small hard to handle with 76 year old hands male first try lost clip came back to try again later this time made it using a needle nose pliers.
