This is a genuine replacement part made by Ryobi, MTD, and Yard Machines for use in snow throwers and snowblowers. It is made of plastic and is sold individually. If the keeper becomes broken it will need to be replaced and may require a wrench during the replacement process.

I removed the bottom cover plate to expose the clitch cable spring. I removed the old cable and installed the replacement cable and spring. The only challenging part of the job was getting the cable tension adjusted correctly to allow the drive control to function.
The chute flange keeper was easy to install; just a matter of putting it in position and installing the bolts.
All the parts fit perfectly.
