This genuine replacement part is designed for use with Shindaiwa gas powered equipment. It is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer and it is sold individually. The purpose of this part is to mix air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. If the engine won't start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, test the carburetor by removing the air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope. If the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem.

2. Removed air filter cover and (2) screws and plate holding carburetor on.
3. Carefully remove carburetor and disconnect from throttle cable.
4. Carefully wipe off old gasket making sure not to damage it. If it comes off take note how because it only fits one way or the carburetor won’t work.
5. Reassembled in reverse order and installed new air filter, new air filter cover and new recoil starter assembly. Started my T230 and it came to life and ran just like it is supposed to.
Now I’m waiting for the new fuel tank to get here because the old one is leaking and apparently I forgot to order a new one when I ordered the carb.
