2. Removed old brush spring and metal clip.
3. Installed new brushes. Note: They install in a sideways direction.
4. Replaced sander top cover.
The jig saw was gradually slowing down and sparking at the brushes. Eventually it came to a total halt.Upon inspection both original brushes were worn completely down.

The switch was the easiest part of the repair. The dust cover on the switch was worn off completely and that may be what the problem was, dust got in the switch.
We also use compressed air in a can to clean all the wood dust out which had accumulated over 8 years! The parts were good and effective and the sander runs powerfully again and really collects the wood dust.
