Front wheel bearings were worn and oil filler tube leaked

Josh - May 26, 2021
Tool Type

Lawn Tractor

Difficulty

Easy

Time

30-60 minutes

Tools Used

Pliers, Wrench Set, Hammer,chisel

Removed front tires, used a hammer and chisel to punch out the old bearings, then used the hammer to seat the new ones. Greased the front wheel spindles then slid the wheels back on. I used a pair of channel lock type pliers to aid in reinstalling the wheel retaining clips. You open the pliers and place one jaw on the axle and the other on the top of the clip, then squeeze. Removed oil tube retaining bolts, took off the old oil seal then installed the new one.
