OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer ?
Toro

Product Description ?

This authentic replacement part is supplied by original equipment manufacturer for use on Toro walk behind lawn mowers. This cable consists of a metal wire cable with z-type bent ends and rubberized cover/body. The control cable stops the blade when the control handle is released on walk-behind mowers. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed.

You may need pliers to complete this repair.

• First you want to see where the old cable is attached to the motor assembly
• Just remove the cable end there and install the new one
• Now you can run the new cable up to the control handle
• Then just as the old cable, put the z-shaped end through the hole in the control handle
• Once both ends are attached, just push the upper mount assembly of the old cable out of the hole in the upper handle
• Tie the cable in place just as the old one was, but leave enough clearance and free play to avoid over-bending and breaking the new cable

Parts Seem to Work Well - Bad Delivery Time
The parts that were ordered seem to work well, but the delivery of the two items took over a month. The was an issue with one of the parts being on back order, which isn't so bad, but I had to inquire about the delay instead of being notified ahead of time.

Connected the wrong end of the cable first after taking the broken cable off the engine. Once I figured out I needed to connect the handle end first and the cable to the engine second, all was good and the engine even started on the first pull. No excuse not to mow the lawn now!
