Rear wheel bolts required replacement

James - April 20, 2017
Tool Type

Lawn Mower

Difficulty

Time

30-60 minutes

Tools Used

Socket set, Adjustable Wrench

Super-cheap Weedeater mower with no wheel adjusters required repositioning wheels by unbolting and changing which holes are used in the deck. Original shoulder bolts were frozen and had to be cut off with a recip saw. Nobody seems to list the model number for this particular mower, so buying parts was a bit of a guessing game. The first set was too long, this set was about a 1/4" too short. Steps to replace:
1. Using cutoff tool, remove approximately 3/8" off plastic hub on wheel to adjust for the bolts being slightly too short.
2. Slide shoulder bolt through wheel, metal spacer on outside of deck, washer and nylock nut on inside.
3. Tighten.
