This is a dryer belt designed for use in various dryer models to facilitate the rotation of the inner drum. The belt connects to the motor and multiple pulleys in the belt system, enabling the drum to rotate and effectively dry your clothes. This rubber dryer belt measures 88.75 inches in length, 0.25 inches in width, and features four grooves. Over time, dryer belts naturally wear out and may break, even with regular maintenance and inspections, which are recommended to prevent issues. However, factors such as overloading the dryer, misalignment, stretching of the belt, or inadequate maintenance can accelerate belt wear. If you notice loud noises like squealing, squeaking, or if the drum is banging against the sides of the dryer, it may indicate belt wear or damage. Replacing this belt requires a screwdriver and/or wrench, a putty knife or flat object, and a method to remember wire configurations, if needed. Start by disconnecting the dryer from the wall outlet and using a putty knife to remove the top panel, gaining access to the dryer interior. Disconnect any wire harnesses located on the top and front of the dryer, and remove the front panel. Access the belt from the pulleys beneath the drum to release and detach it. Once the old belt is free, remove it from the dryer and install the new belt into the motor and pulley system. Use one hand to manage the tensioner while your other hand wraps the belt around the drum. With the new belt in place, reassemble your dryer and reconnect the wire harnesses to their original positions.
