2. Attempted to carefully remove bail return spring and guide.
3. Caught briefest glimpse of spring and guide as they sprung to the safety of the farthest inaccessible corner of my garage (home of numerous spiders and creepy crawlers), never to be seen again.
4. Very loudly and clearly spoke some of my most commonly used verbal exclamations. (Male offspring of a female canine; along with fornicator of maternal parent)
5. Used online search engine for the parts to replace recently emancipated.
6. Found ereplacementparts.com, ordered them ( 2 of each, just in case another set went AWOL).
7. Promptly received new parts and installed them. NO escapees!! But I do have spares for next time!
8. Unfortunately, the parts didn't correct bail return issue. But adding slight bend to bail return rod, thus compensating for wear in the rod, corrected the bail return issue.
9. With repairs now complete, went fishing!!
10. First cast, caught willow root bream, thus loosing my $9.00 lure.
11. See step 4.
Bail spring guide was broken.
