This genuine OEM door strike assembly is specially designed for washing machines. It includes the strike, which is the metal piece attached to the door that engages with the door switch, and the plastic bumper for shock absorption and stability. Over time the strike may become damaged, warped, or dislodged from aging or excessive force when shutting the door. If the assembly is faulty, the washer will likely experience difficulties locking/unlocking, starting, or completing a cycle. Unplug the washing machine from its power source. Open the washer door and remove the screws that hold the assembly to the washer frame and pull the strike out. Position the new door strike in place and secure it with the mounting hardware.
