Your power tool uses a basic toggle switch that breaks the circuit on both the hot and neutral wires. After thousands of cycles and years of use, this switch will wear out. Testing for a bad switch can be easily done using a multimeter.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE SWITCH
1. Use a screwdriver to remove the cover on the underside of the handle.
2. Note the location of each of the wires attached to the switch.
3. Remove the wires from the old switch.

4. Install the new switch into the housing, making sure to align the wire actuator with the slot in the switch.
5. With the switch in place, re-secure the wires.
6. Finish up by replacing the cover using a screwdriver.
