    Fantastic repair parts and instructions!
I was so impressed to get original OEM Briggs & Stratton products for my Craftsman GT 6000 garden tractor that was built in 1987-100% USA. They just don't build stuff like the original built in the USA products. Have never got a wrong or bad part from eReplacement Parts. Very good parts, service, pricing and delivery time.

    Questions & Answers for Armature-magneto

mower died..no spark..kill switches on seat and blade engagement checked good, next day mower started and ran, generally when mags/coils fail ..they fail..can they fail intermittently ?need to rule out other issues before spending $80
Calvin for model number 42a707 1652 01 asked on 2023-03-25
Hello Calvin, thank you for writing. Yes, they can fail intermittently. The magnets in a magneto never go completely dead. They lose energy slowly with use after a charge until they reach a certain point and then they stabilize. It is more likely that the coil has failed, the points are severely fouled, or there is a short somewhere. We hope this is of some help.

Easy to replace. Instructions with part are well put together. After removing engine cover, the replacement was easy. Only issue was the replacement plug wires did not come with spark plug rubber boot. I had to pull them off of the old plug wires and install them, with a little soap, onto the new plug wires.

Once I removed the hood and side panels it was easy to remove the engine cover to replace the armature/ magneto. only issue I had is I also ordered a timing key but received a float bowl screw which I have no use for. The sticker on the back of the package says timing key. The front of the package from briggs and Stratton says float bowl screw which is what it is. I've contacted customer service several times about this and have yet to get a response.
My lawn tractor now starts but won't wind up to full speed. I may have a carburetor issue as well.
