This armature is an authentic Dewalt replacement part. It is sourced from original equipment manufacturer for use with impact wrenches. The armature is a key component of an electric motor. In conjunction with a field it is what creates the motion. Over time, especially if the tool is constantly overloaded, it may begin to smoke or spark. This is caused by worn out armature insulation. Replacing an armature should resolve the issue and prevent further damage to the tool. It is recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing an armature. This assembly consists of an armature with the fan and both end bearings.
When replacing an armature you will need a screwdriver set, a wrench set and pliers.
• Make sure the tool is unplugged
• Remove the housing
• Remove the brushes
• Remove the armature
• Secure the new armature in place
• Reassemble and test the tool
