This high quality replacement air filter element is an authentic OEM sourced part, it is not an aftermarket imitation. It is commonly utilized on Lawn Boy and Toro lawn mowers. Its purpose is to supply clean air free of dust and other contaminants into the carburetor. Replacing this filter is a very simple task that does not require any tools. Simply remove the cover and replace the filter element. Please note, this foam item is sold individually.

    Pull cord was ready to snap, air filter was very old and dirty, rope guide broken and traction cable broken.

    All of the repairs were very straightforward except replacing the pull cord. Be careful to remember how all the parts go together as you take it apart (maybe take pictures along the way) and try to keep the recoil spring in the mechanism. Mine popped out and it took a good bit of time to get it coiled tight enough to get it back in. All the parts I ordered were a perfect fit!

    Mower blade and air filter needed to be replaced

    Put block of wood in the housing to stop the blade.
    Removed the blade nut, then the blade
    Put the new lade on then tightened the nut
    Removed the air filter cover and the old filter
    Installed the new filter and replace the cover

    Installed new plug, gapped at 0.025 . And installed the new air filter . Cleaned the exhaust . Your video on how to clean the exhaust deposits worked great. Did not know that needed be done. The old lawn boy starts on the 1st pull

    I have a fairly old Lawn Boy mower. The primer bulb was ripped up, and the air filter cover and element were missing.

    Screwdriver, Paint can opener to slip the primer bulb over the base.

    Remove the primer bulb from the white primer body on top of the housing. Then install the new primer. Then place the new air filter in place and place the new filter cover on. I was surprised to find the right parts since the mower is 20+ years old.
