This is a genuine OEM replacement part designed for use with some Handheld String Trimmers. This filter is made out of Foam and it is sold individually. The purpose of this filter is to keep dirt and other small particles from entering the carburetor and engine and causing internal engine damage. Once this type of filter gets clogged or dirty it should be changed (Not Cleaned). This is to prevent restricted air flow and foreign matter from entering the engine.

I volunteer at a state park and didn't realize I had lost it.
I had to remove two screws from the half of the remaining part of the assembly and remove it.
Placed the new part in position and replaced the screws and popped on the other half and it was ready to go.

Removed carburetor
Removed old spark plug.
Cleaned around area where carburetor goes.
Installed new carburetor
Installed new air cleaner gasket
Tightened all bolts.
Installed new spark plug.
Unit started right up and now runs like new.

Went on line to the eReplacement Parts website. entered serial number, view appropriate diagram. Selected the necessary parts, placed my order and waited for the parts to arrive. Once they arrived I installed parts and went to work using the trimmed. This repair was simple because it only involved removing and replacing a few screws.

I removed the spark plug wire then used a 3/8 ratchet and spark plug socket to remove and replace the spark plug. For the filter, I simply removed the cover, wiped excess trash and liquid away and replaced with new filter and reinstalled the cover. I primed it and it ran like a champ.

1. Removed air filter cover
2. Removed carburetor
3, Cleaned carburetor and replaced O-rings, carburetor gasket and air filter.
4. Replaced spark plug
5. Fresh 40:1 fuel mix added, primed and trimmer started right away.
6. Finely tuned high speed and low speed carb adjustment screws

Opened the Air filter cap and installed the circular foam around the holding pins. There was a extra piece of foam connected to the circular foam filter. I did not know what to do with it, because there were no installation instruction with the Air filter foam. I stuffed it along side of the circular foam.
