2. Used pliers to un-crimp the connectors holding the wires of the old assembly.
3. Snipped plastic ties that were holding wires together.
4. Had to wiggle quite a bit to get the assembly loose from the main board.
5. Attached the new wires to the connectors and re-crimped. (I didn't replace the plastic ties.)
6. Attached the new assembly to the main board.
7. Replaced outer case.

2. Removed back plate
3. Detatched thermal fuse assembly
4. Slid back thermal protective sheathing
5. Clipped off existing thermal fuse
6. Crimped new fuse in place
7. Reversed steps 4 through 1.
Trickiest part was carefully prying out the back plate without damaging it.
The thermal fuse on my Breville toaster oven failed.
