1. Remove the two bolts from the muffler
Use a socket wrench to remove these bolts.
2. Pull the old muffler away from the engine
With the bolts removed, you can pull the old muffler and gaskets off of the engine.
3. Place the two bolts into the new muffler
Place the two bolts from the old muffler into the new muffler.
4. Install the first gasket
Open your new set of gaskets to find the gasket that matches the gasket fitting closest to the muffler body (the last one that was removed in step 2). Then slide it over the bolts on the backside of the muffler.
5. Install the heat shield
Slide your heat shield over the bolts on the back of the muffler.
6. Install the second gasket
Now install the final gasket over the muffler bolts.
7. Secure the new muffler assembly
With all of the gaskets in place, you can re-secure the muffler assembly to the engine by securing the bolts to the mower.
